As DEI Programs and Partnerships Manager at Criteo, Nancy Siba has made it her mission to create a culture of belonging for everyone. She believes diversity is all about empowering people by respecting and appreciating what makes them different.A career in diversityAfter more than 3 years of working experience in digital advertising I decided to make a new start and join Criteo as Talent Acquisition Coordinator where I quickly moved to a Talent Operations Specialist role. I am proud of my atypical career path. It allowed me to meet so many different people in different places, learn from their experiences and grow personally as much as professionally. And today it helps me get a better understanding on the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace.During my first two years at Criteo, I worked closely with the recruitment teams and was involved in the recruitment process, shadowing interviews, welcoming candidates, and planning our recruitment events. Given my background and the projects I was working on, it became even more obvious to me that I wanted to explore and do more in terms of diversity and inclusion.&nbsp; Understanding and tackling unconscious biasThanks to our culture, which encourages internal mobility, I was given the chance to join the amazing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team as a DEI Programs and Partnerships Manager, where my main mission is to participate in the creation of a culture of belonging for all. That includes promoting DEI internally and externally by building awareness and education around DEI, working cross functionally with internal stakeholders, and establishing key strategic partnerships with external organizations, charities or NGOs to develop DEI programs and initiatives.Women are clearly underrepresented within the tech industry. We get very few women applying to tech roles, and even fewer apply to senior positions. Gender stereotypes, prejudices and unconscious bias are major barriers to inclusion. At the same time, it is encouraging to see more and more initiatives and organizations committed to closing the gender gap and empowering women.That’s why, this year, we launched our first DEI learning paths on unconscious bias to build a culture of awareness, because we believe that understanding unconscious bias can help us be more inclusive with our team, our peers and improve the way we make decisions.Diversity &amp; the Criteo Culture BookDiversity is all about empowering people by respecting and appreciating what makes them different, in terms of their background, experiences, who they are and how they feel. This is an exciting win for Criteo recognising some of the key significant steps we have made towards our DEI commitments.
