Who we are
Inato is a Tech for Good company striving to bring clinical research to each and every patient, regardless of who they are or where they live. To do this, we are building the world's first clinical trial platform to create greater visibility, access, and engagement across a more diverse population of doctors and their patients.

Drug development is a challenging, intellectually complex, and rewarding endeavor: we enable global pharmaceutical companies to confidently partner with community-based researchers to increase patient access to the latest medical innovations. The platform currently offers clinical trials from leading companies to over 4,000 sites across the globe and we are well poised for growth in 2025.

We are a growing team of passionate pharmaceutical experts, software engineers, professional services members, and many more - all bringing their unique perspectives to solve the challenges facing clinical research.

Inato is the recent recipient of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies of 2024 and Fierce Healthcare’s Fierce 15.

The Role
We are looking for a dedicated and creative AI Engineer to join our team. As an essential contributor to our mission of transforming healthcare, you'll play a leading role in building AI-driven solutions that directly influence clinical research and, ultimately, improve patient care. We’ve already deployed multiple use cases in production, and your skills will be crucial in pushing the boundaries of healthcare AI.

Responsibilities
One of your key projects will be spearheading the AI components of a new, groundbreaking, pre-screening tool. This tool enables clinical research coordinators (CRCs) to quickly assess patient eligibility for clinical trials, reducing the process from hours to seconds.

In this role, you'll take on complex challenges that will stretch your abilities and creativity:
- Choose and orchestrate the right models to process and analyze multimodal data—such as unstructured text, physician notes, and medical charts—extracting meaningful insights from varied data sources.
- Design and implement cutting-edge RAG techniques to efficiently handle large medical documents and patient histories, ensuring our AI can manage extensive information.
- Build intelligent systems to evaluate complex eligibility criteria, using advanced problem decomposition to address evolving diagnoses and complicated medical conditions.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate AI into our platform, enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of clinical trial recruitment.
- Collaborate with medical experts to gather ground truth data and improve our product

Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in Machine Learning/AI roles (bonus if in healthcare industry)
- Strong experience with LLMs and related tools and techniques
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
