This is how we hope to describe the Accounting Manager UK & Dubai, who will soon join Dataiku to help us build our finance and accounting teams in EMEA and globally.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintaining general ledgers in UK GAAP
- Responsible for annual statutory accounts and the UK statutory filing process
- Participate in monthly closing activities in US GAAP, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, roll forwards, payroll checks, and analytical reviews.
- Supervising the Senior accountant on the Dubai entity (monthly closing activities, Statutory audit, and filing)
- Responsible for the monthly Flux analysis for the UK entity
- Participate in the US audit process for the UK and Dubai entities
- Supporting the Tax department in the preparation of the annual tax return and UK tax filing
- Supporting the Tax department in the preparation of the VAT return
- Ensure that the accounting is executed in compliant with internal policies and accounting regulations
- Liaise with external professionals and government bodies on audit, tax, secretarial, and other issues to ensure statutory and regulatory compliance
- Support the EMEA Accounting Manager with special project and workflow process improvement
- Monitor and analyze team members’ work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Assist the FP&A/Treasury department with the preparation of operational and cash flow forecasts.
- Support budget activities
- Work with direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor/ advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff
Requirements
- Master’s degree in accounting/finance and/or CPA
- Minimum of 8 years of experience
- Strong technical and comprehensive knowledge of UK GAAP
- Statutory compliance (legal/tax/social UK requirements)
- Experience in an audit firm, combined with experience in a company is a plus
- Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Team lead/manager experience
- Experience in US GAAP is a plus
- Ability and willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- High-energy individual, proactive, cooperative and results-oriented
- Familiarity with large ERP systems such as Netsuite
- Comprehensive use of Excel
